emotional intelligence

PDR Consulting Ltd is a fully accredited EQ-i Emotional Intelligence practitioner - Ei (UK) Ltd.

Ask yourself:

  • Why do some people achieve overall health and wellbeing whilst others don't?
  • Why are some very intelligent people unsuccessful in 'climbing the career ladder'?
  • Why do people from similar school or academic backgrounds end up with dramatically different lives?

Increasing bodies of research reveals that our emotional intelligence has a large part to play in our success in life.

why is emotional intelligence important?

Organisations can become more productive, both by hiring more emotionally and socially intelligent people and by trying to enhance these skills in the workplace. Research findings demonstrate that cognitive intelligence (or IQ) accounts for around only 6% of successful performance at work; emotional intelligence on the other hand accounts for around 27% of success. The rest is down to experience and training.

how do you measure emotional intelligence?

The EQ-i (Emotional Quotient Inventory) has been developed by Dr Reuven Bar-On of Trent University, Canada based on 20 years of research. This is the most widely validated scientific method for pinpointing skills that need to be improved to enhance overall effectiveness. It has been applied across over a million people (of both genders and many different cultures) speaking 20 different languages worldwide.

EQ-i testing involves answering 133 short questions, typically taking around 30 minutes, following which a report is produced comparing an individual's results against 'normed' data for the same gender and age group, across 15 emotional intelligence factors. Following the EQ-i assessment you will receive feedback on strengths and weaknesses and explore ways of developing aspects of emotional intelligence that can be improved.

An EQ-i assessment provides an excellent starting point for directing the focus of one-to-one coaching to improve personal performance, often identifying areas for development previously unknown to the client.

how much does it cost?

For administering the test, producing the report and for the feedback/coaching session of up to 2 hours, the cost is £150.00 per person plus VAT. Cost reductions are available for applying the test to groups of four or more people.
